Former-WWE Women’s Champion and Stardom superstar IYO SKY (formerly Io Shirai) will be wrestling in her first match outside of the WWE since 2018, and it isn’t for her previous home promotion of Stardom.
Making an appearance on the video screen at the end of Marigold’s 11th June Korakuen Hall show following Utami Hayashishita’s main event victory over Nanae Takahashi, IYO SKY confirmed that she will be appearing at the company’s Summer Destiny 2024 show in Ryogoku Kokugikan on July 13th.

Further to this, she challenged a visibly-shocked Utami Hayashishita to a singles match that has subsequently been made official on all of Marigold’s social media accounts, with the match being given the emphatic tag line of ‘Queen of Queen’.
Utami has gone on record as saying that a match with SKY has always been an unrealised dream match of hers, and her reaction as seen in the video above is absolutely priceless; especially given that she was apparently completely unaware of this prior to the show.
This means that the Summer Destiny 2024 card now has two blockbuster main events, as listed below, with the event being available now to purchase on PPV through WRESTLEUNIVERSE.
