Following the final night of block action in Yamagata on the 25th August, the quarter-finals of the 2024 5Star Grand Prix have been set…for the most part!
After Tomoka Inaba’s loss to Red Stars B block winner Mayu Iwatani, AZM’s first loss of the tournament to Saya Iida, and Mei Seira’s win over Tam Nakano left all three women tied on 8 points, a play-in tournament of sorts will take place on the 28th August with the first to two singles falls in a three-way match advancing as the number two seed to face Maika in the quarter-finals.
Elsewhere, in Blue Stars B, there will also be a play-off between Hanan and last year’s winner Suzu Suzuki as both finished on seven points and drew in their match together. The winner will face Syuri in the quarter-finals.

- Mayu Iwatani (1st Seed in Red Stars B) vs. Natsupoi (2nd Seed in Red Stars A)
- Syuri (1st Seed in Blue Stars A) vs. Hanan/Suzu Suzuki (2nd Seed in Blue Stars B)
- Saya Kamitani (1st Seed in Blue Stars B) vs. Starlight Kid (2nd Seed in Blue Stars A)
