Marigold ran their latest Korakuen Hall event on Thursday 24th October, with the main event being a successful Marigold World Championship defence for Sareee against Bozilla.

Earlier on the card, the debuting masked Hummingbird went one-on-one with Natsumi Showzuki for the latter’s Superfly Championship match. During a fast-paced back-and-forth, the action moved to the outside where the challenger attempted a Flying Headscissors from the first row of seating to the floor. Unfortunately, this high-risk manoeuvre resulted in a very heavy landing for Hummingbird, who can immediately be seen clutching her head. After a referee check, the match continued, with Showzuki picking up the victory and her second successful defence of the Superfly Championship.

Unfortunately, it was later announced through Marigold’s social media channels that Hummingbird will be missing the upcoming Shin-Kiba shows as a result of the heavy landing sustained in the match. On a more positive note, the announcement does state that a CT scan showed no abnormalities, and that the decision to withdraw her from the upcoming double shot in Shin-Kiba has been taken as a precaution.

With Hummingbird no longer participating on Sunday, there have been some card changes to the announced shows. The changes for the shows are as follows;

Shin-Kiba 1st RING, Tokyo (Sunday 27th October – Afternoon Show) – Victoria Yuzuki vs. Komomo Minami

Shin-Kiba 1st RING, Tokyo (Sunday 27th October – Mask Fiesta) – Honada Maya (Naho Yamada), Butterfly Queen (Kouki Amarei) & Ikemen Mask (Utami Hayashishita) vs. Queen O’Lantern (Natsumi Showzuki), Merci (Miku Aono) & Rio de Piedra (Nao Ishikawa)

We at the Marigold Standard and The Stardom Cast wish Hummingbird a speedy recovery, and hope to see her in-ring again as soon as possible.

The shows will air LIVE on WRESTLE UNIVERSE
