Marigold’s huge PPV in Ota-Ward City Gymnasium on January 3rd – Marigold First Dream 2025 – is less than a month away, and with matches becoming official, excitement is ramping up!

Aside from Utami’s challenge for the Marigold World Championship, and the confirmed United National and GHC Women’s Championship matches, the thing which a lot of Marigold have been most excited for has been the debut of ‘super rookie’ Seri Yamaoka.

With her debut announced during the press conference for Giulia’s last match back in August, Seri Yamaoka took to the Marigold ring for the first time in front of cameras in a public exhibition of her wrestling talent in an ‘open workout’. Though her debut has been confirmed for January 3rd since August, her opponent has been subject to speculation. This changed however, with Yamaoka publicly choosing MIRAI as her first opponent in front of the cameras on December 10th, a challenge which MIRAI accepted.

This will not be MIRAI’s first match with a rookie in Marigold, being chosen to face Komomo Minami in her debut match back in June.

At just 18-years old, Yamaoka is a decorated free-style wrestler already, placing second in the 54kg class at the 2021 National Junior High School Selection Championships and winning the high-school lightweight class at the 2022 All Japan Beach Wrestling Championships. With this wealth of experience at such a young age, standing at 162cm and weighing in at 54kg, it goes without saying that Seri Yamaoka is an exciting prospect in Marigold’s future!

Marigold First Dream 2025 will stream live on PPV complete with English commentary, with streaming details to be announced soon.
