After a career spanning an incredible 28 years, Nanae Takahashi has announced her retirement from professional wrestling effective from May 20th 2025.

Following her Marigold World Championship title loss to Sareee in the main event of Marigold’s Shinjuku FACE show on December 13th, Nanae took to the microphone and stated that she will retire from professional wrestling on May 20th 2025, the one year anniversary of Marigold.

Debuting in 1996 in an exhibition 5-minute time limit draw against Saya Endo in Sapporo, Nanae’s accolades over her 28 years in the ring are incredibly lengthy. From being the last person to hold AJW’s WWWA World Championship before the company’s collapse, to helping establish Stardom and hold their World of Stardom Championship for a record-setting 602 days, Takahashi has won titles wherever she has gone.

We at the Marigold Standard and The Stardom Cast wish Nanae Takahashi nothing but the best as she embarks on her retirement road.
