As announced on the 22nd April, Hazuki, Akira Kurogane and Ranna Yagami will be participating in Pro Wrestling: WAVE’s annual Catch the Wave Tournament with the first round of matches coming from Korakuen Hall on the 4th May.

On the 28th April, Pro Wrestling: WAVE released the block breakdowns and the full participation for the tournament which is due to end on July 21st.

This year, the company has broken the 36 competitors into four blocks of nine, with each being named after one of the planets. Hazuki has been drawn in the Mercury Block alongside Rina Amikura, Yuki Miyazaki and Nanami, whilst Ranna Yagami has been drawn in the Saturn Block with Tae Honma, Miyuki Takase and Yura Suzuki. Meanwhile, rookie debutant Akira Kurogane finds herself in Uranus Block alongside Sho Sekiguchi, Mari Manji and Mi Vida Loca stablemate Itsuki Aoki.

The rules across the blocks are the same with a 15-minute time limit, with three points for a win and 0 for a loss. Where things get interesting is with draws, as the wrestler with the longer career will receive one point, and the wrestler with the shorter career will get two; giving an advantage to lesser-experienced wrestlers.

The full block breakdown follows;

  • Mercury: Hazuki, Yuki Miyazaki, Nanami, Rina Amikura
  • Venus: Shin Sakura Hirota, Haruka Umesaki, Natsu Sumire, Kaho Kobayashi
  • Earth: Risa Sera, Mio Shirai, Mizuki Kato, Kohaku
