BITE-SIZE SHOW REPORT: Marigold Rising Spirit 2025 – Night 11 ~Evening Show~ (Saturday, 17th May 2025)

Pre-Show Notes

• 2nd Marigold United National Champion Mai Sakurai has been champion for 134 days – in her first reign. This will be the fifth title defence of her reign.
• A win for Mai Sakurai will make her the most successful champion in Marigold’s short history outright – surpassing Natsumi Showzuki’s four defences of the Superfly title and MiraiSaku’s four defences of the Twinstar Championships.
• This is Chika Goto’s first attempt at a Marigold-sanctioned singles title, though she was previously unsuccessful in her attempt at the GHC Women’s Championship against Kouki Amarei on 3rd January 2025. She was also unsuccessful in capturing the Twinstar Championships alongside Kouki Amarei as the tWin toWers against MiraiSaku on the 7th October.
• The current singles record between the pair currently sits at 1-0, with Mai Sakurai winning their only previous match back in October 2024.
• Kouki Amarei will be missing from all shows due to a torn ACL. It has been confirmed that Amarei will return to action on the 24th May at Shine Forever alongside Kizuna Tanaka against Chika Goto and Minami Yuki.
• Naho Yamada will miss an undisclosed period of time through a knee injury she sustained in Shinjuku FACE on the 7th February. She has since confirmed that she has ruptured the ACL and lateral ligament in her right knee and will undergo surgery to repair the damage.

• Attendance Notes: The announced attendance inside Chateraise Gateaux Kingdom Sapporo in Hokkaido was 385. This is the fourth time the company have run the venue, with this once again being the final show of an afternoon/evening double header. The number marks another best for the company at the venue having surpassed their previous best at the show in the afternoon. However, the 385 drawn to the venue is a 30.95% increase on the 294 on the evening show of the 2nd November, whilst also being another 8.76% increase on the earlier afternoon show. It is also worth noting that both of these shows from Gateaux Kingdom exceeded the only other announced attendance (322 from BJW on 20th April) which means that 385 sits as the record for the venue in 2025.
