Following a wildly-successful PPV outing in Shine Forever 2025 that saluted Nanae Takahashi as she rode into a well-deserved retirement, the second year of Marigold began in earnest with some participation on NOAH’s first Monday Magic Prime Time show of the year.

Following her capture of the Marigold Superfly Championship in just her fourth match for the promotion, Mayu Iwatani was cornered backstage at Shine Forever by Nosawa Rongai, who asked her if she would participate on the first of NOAH’s Monday Magic Prime Time 2025 shows at Shinjuku FACE.

Mayu said she would consider the offer and, sure enough, ultimately turned up to team alongside GHC Women’s Champion Kouki Amarei against a team of The Great Sakuya and Sadie Gibbs, with Iwatani picking up the win with a Dragon Suplex over Gibbs. Backstage, Iwatani said that it was a fun experience but didn’t know if she would participate again, with Nosawa piping up from off-camera to ask her to keep showing up!

Post-match, Marvelous’ Takumi Iroha – fresh from her own victory at Shine Forever over Seri Yamaoka and a challenge for the Marigold World Championship against Utami Hayashishita – came to the ring and officially challenged Kouki for the GHC Women’s Championship. Iroha will be the second challenger to Amarei’s belt, with her defending the belt once against Chika Goto before being sidelined for over five months with an ACL injury.
