BITE-SIZE SHOW REPORT: Stardom Nighter 2025 in Korakuen Hall Mar. (Monday, 3rd March 2025)

Pre-Show Notes

• 27th High-Speed Champion Mei Seira has been champion for 218 days – in her second reign. This will be the fifth title defence of her reign.
• 34th Artist of Stardom Champions NEO-GENESIS (AZM (4), Starlight Kid (2) & Miyu Amasaki (1)) have been champions for 29 days – in their first reign. This will be the first title defence of their reign.
• This is Lady C’s first attempt at the Artist of Stardom Championships in almost three years (11th March 2022 in Korakuen Hall).
• This will be both Tomoka Inaba and Ranna Yagami’s first ever attempt at the Artist of Stardom Championships.
• Ami Sohrei will be absent from all cards as she begins the process of recovering from ACL and meniscus tears in her knee.
• Xena has suffered a ligament injury in her knee, and will be out of action for an undisclosed period of time.
• Matoi Hamabe will be missing missing from upcoming shows due to injury; no timetable is currently available for Matoi’s return to the ring.
• Prior to the show, Stardom announced that the main event match between Saya Kamitani and Tam Nakano would be aired for free on YouTube.
• Attendance Note: The announced 1,635 for Korakuen Hall was a legitimate sell-out, with standing-room only available. This number is the largest Korakuen Hall number in Stardom’s history and is only the third time in the 161 times they have run the venue that they have drawn over 1,600. As well as being a slight increase of 1.3% over the previous Korakuen Hall show on 2nd February, it is a huge 59.36% increase on the previous Korakuen Nighter show (1026 on the 11th November) and is the tenth of the last eleven in the venue to surpass the 1000 mark.

Show Notes

• During the show, the full field for the 2025 Cinderella Tournament was announced ahead of the opening night on March 8th in Yokohama Budokan. The field itself has been narrowed down significantly from the 24 of 2024 to just 16, the lowest it’s been since 2020. In continuation of last year’s tournament, none of the bigger stars are present with the focus being firmly put on younger and more inexperienced talent. This year’s tournament will see 7 of the competitors making their Cinderella debuts, among them being Azusa Inaba and CMLL’s Tabata. The full field is as follows; Aya Sakura (debut), Sayaka Kurura, Hanan, Lady C, Miyu Amasaki, Yuria Hime (debut), Akira Kurogane (debut), Rian (debut), Ranna Yagami (debut), HANAKO, Hina, Rina, Ruaka, Tabata (CMLL debut), Azusa Inaba (debut) and Tomoka Inaba.
• Following the 8-woman tag team match between H.A.T.E and Cosmic Angels, a beatdown ensued with H.A.T.E targeting Natsupoi in particular, attacking her knee and hitting her with a chair, with her having to be carried to the back. Saori Anou was also attacked and sustained a cut on her head.
• In the venue where she lost her 5Star Grand Prix match against Saki in 2024 in just 20 seconds, Hanan was once again rolled up with the Kishikaisei in less than a minute – this time 35 seconds.
• Mina Shirakawa returned from a month out to save EXV from a further H.A.T.E beat-down. Shirakawa had previously been out of action since 2nd February Korakuen Hall show where she was put on the shelf by a H.A.T.E post-match attack led by Thekla.
• Following the culmination of an interference-riddled main-event, Tam Nakano was forced to leave Stardom. However, she begged Saya Kamitani for one more chance to battle her. Kamitani relented, and the pair are now scheduled for a retirement match at Yokohama Arena on 27th April. It has since been confirmed by President Taro Okada that Nakano is no longer a full-time member of the Stardom roster, and will instead compete on select shows as a freelancer before her World of Stardom Championship retirement match at All-Star Grand Queendom.
