BITE-SIZE SHOW REPORT: Stardom Path of Thunder 2025 (Monday, 24th February 2025)

Pre-Show Notes

• 24th Wonder of Stardom Champion Starlight Kid has been champion for 57 days – in her first reign. This will be the first title defence of her reign.
• Both Starlight Kid and Rina were in the same faction – Oedo Tai – from 2021 through to April 2024 when Starlight Kid was forcibly ejected by the other members; led by a returning Thekla. They were also in the same sub-group (YoungOED alongside Ruaka), so know each other very well. 
• This will be Rina’s first attempt at the Wonder of Stardom Championship. 
• This will be the first singles match between the pair. 
• 35th Goddesses of Stardom Champions Winggori (Saya Iida (1) & Hanan (1)) have been champions for 57 days – in their first reign. This will be the first title defence of their reign.
• Crazy Star (Mei Seira and Suzu Suzuki) are former champions, holding the belts for 36 days at the start of 2024. 
• In tag team action, Crazy Star and Winggori have only met once prior, with Winggori winning in May of 2024, just before Suzu Suzuki took a brief hiatus to recover from niggling injuries. 
• There has been significant heat between Hanan and Mei Seira’s whose long-standing dislike for each other has led them to be separated by their faction-mates on numerous occasions. 
• Saya Iida returned from a wrist-injury on the 22nd February. 
• 11th Future of Stardom Champion Miyu Amasaki has been champion for 142 days – in her first reign. This will be the fourth title defence of her reign.
• Miyu Amasaki and Hina used to be in the same faction – Queen’s Quest – from Miyu’s debut in 2022 all the way through until the middle of 2024 when the faction was dissolved.
• This will be Hina’s third opportunity at the Future of Stardom Championship, having lost to both of her sisters (Hanan in 2022 and Rina in 2024). 
• Miyu Amasaki won the only singles match the pair have had prior, defeating Hina at New Blood 15 back in September 2024. 
• Tam Nakano and Sayaka Kurura vs. Saya Kamitani and Natsuko Tora is a match with massive stakes. If H.A.T.E win, then Sayaka Kurura must join them. It was Kurura who told Tam Nakano to trust her when agreeing to the match, though they were on the losing end of the preview 8-woman tag team match in Sendai on 22nd February. 
• Rookie Yuria Hime will be competing in her first match in her home prefecture against Mayu Iwatani. 
• Attendance Note: The announced attendance inside Light Cube Utsonomiya was 896, which was advertised as a sellout. This is Stardom’s highest at the venue, 388 people more than their previous best (508 on night 3 of the 5Star Grand Prix 2024) and a whopping 76% increase. This is also the third highest-ever attendance at the venue since its opening in 2022, roughly 100 people less than New Japan’s two forays into it.

Show Notes

• More miscommunication between Momo Watanabe and her H.A.T.E teammates led to her accidentally hitting Thekla with the baseball bat, which ultimately led Maika to hit her with Michinoku Driver II for the win.
• Thekla was enraged following the match and confronted President Taro Okada, demanding to know what he was smiling about.
• Sayaka Kurura was given the option to attack Tam during the closing stretch of the Cosmic Angels and H.A.T.E tag team match, but instead chose to Spear Saya Kamitani and Bodyslam Natsuko Tora, fortifying her relationship with Tam Nakano.
• After successfully managing to defend Sayaka Kurura and save her from H.A.T.E, Tam Nakano challenged Saya Kamitani to a singles match at Korakuen Hall with the stipulation of the loser having to leave Stardom. This is the first time this stipulation has been used by the company.
• Hina announced after winning the Future of Stardom Championship that she has graduated from High School and will now be competing in Stardom full-time.
• After retaining the Goddesses of Stardom Championships, Hanan said that they can’t leave her and Mei Seira’s feud there, challenging her to a singles match down the road.
• Rina used her first match for the Wonder of Stardom Championship to pay tribute to the late Hana Kimura. As well as coming to the ring carrying the sword Hana used to carry during her entrances, she also looked to hit the Tiger Lily but was unsuccessful.
• Following her successful defence of the Wonder of Stardom Championship, Starlight Kid was confronted backstage by Konami who seemed to put herself forward as the next challenger for the title.
