It’s been a great few days for Stardom’s AZM, having become the fifth NJPW Strong Women’s Champion by defeating Mercedes Mone and Mina Shirakawa in a Three-Way Championship Match at NJPW Resurgence on the 10th May.
Her and Mina will face off again sooner than expected however as both women have been advertised to be appearing on AEW’s flagship TV show Dynamite on Wednesday 14th May.
Announced through AEW’s social media channels, AZM and Mina Shirakawa will participate in a four-way AEW Women’s World Championship Eliminator with Skye Blue – herself making her return from an injury that has kept her out of action since July 2024 – and champion ‘Timeless’ Toni Storm. With the champion in the match, this is a great opportunity for both Mina and AZM to secure themselves a key victory and bank themselves a future show at the title – especially with the Forbidden Door show in the UK coming up in August.
Mina Shirakawa has already unsuccessfully faced Storm for the championship at Forbidden Door last year, and will be keen for another title opportunity as soon as possible after losing to Mercedes Mone at Dynasty in January, and then eating the pin in the three-way at Resurgence last week.
