With her reign on 199 days at the time of writing, placing her as the 10th longest-reigning World of Stardom Champion of all-time, Maika returned to her old stomping ground of JUST TAP OUT to face Tomoka Inaba in her sixth title defence in celebration of the company’s 5th Anniversary inside Korakuen Hall on the 15th July.
As two women that have a lot of history in the promotion, and with each other, Maika and Inaba put on a show for the duration of their 19-minute battle. Ultimately, despite a spirited showing from the incredibly-talented Inaba, Maika was able to hit the Wrist-Clutch variation of her Michinoku Driver II – in front of the move’s innovator TAKA Michinoku – to gain the victory and her sixth successful title defence; a record that places her at a clear seventh in terms of successful defences of the Red Belt.

Next on the agenda for the EXV co-founder, is the challenge of the formidable Natsuko Tora, who challenges for the World of Stardom Championship in Sapporo on Sunday 28th July.
Despite this being another huge challenge for the current champion, she can at least rest easy knowing that her ally Saya Kamitani will be at ringside as her second, just as she was for the defence against Tomoka Inaba, offering support against what will undoubtedly be a case of the numbers game from Oedo Tai.
舞華お疲れ様!!!✨
