With Marigold First Dream – the company’s first big PPV event since July’s Summer Destiny – a mere two weeks away, the company announced the full card at a press conference held on the 19th December. Even though the vast majority of the card had already been confirmed, the company still managed to find space for a surprise or two!

As previously mentioned, the show’s top matches had already been announced, with title matches between Sareee and Utami Hayashishita, Miku Aono and Mai Sakurai, Kouki Amarei and Chika Goto plus Natsumi Showzuki and Victoria Yuzuki confirmed at various points over the past week or so. Additionally the much-anticipated debut of Seri Yamaoka had also been announced back in August, though her opponent was only confirmed to be MIRAI in the last week.

Following the title change in Shinjuku FACE on December 13th that saw CHIAKI and Nagisa Nozaki become the second Twinstar Champions, Bozilla made her challenge for the belts alongside a mystery partner. After much speculation, it has been announced that Bozilla’s mystery partner is Tank The Iron Lady, a Netherlands-based wrestler currently plying her trade in Europe. At 5’11” and over 200lbs, it looks like Bozilla will make good on her promise to cause damage when her and Tank challenge for the belts on 3rd January.

The biggest shock of the press conference however, came from Nanae Takahashi. Less than a week after announcing that she would be retiring from professional wrestling on May 20th, she confirmed her own participation on the First Dream PPV, teaming with Nao Ishikawa against none other than joshi legend Meiko Satomura and her partner YUNA. On her own retirement road, Satomura will be making her Marigold debut, putting a bow on a rivalry with Nanae that has seen the two icons of joshi wrestle in every company from Stardom, to Sendai Girls, to Dragon Gate, to Diana and SEAdLNNNG and seemingly everywhere in between.

Elsewhere, a large chunk of the participants for the New Year Rumble have been announced, with all remaining active roster members confirmed alongside a few surprises. Momoka Hanazono and Flying Penguin return, whilst Nightshade, Riara, Hamuko Hoshi and reigning ICExINFINITY Champion Yuuki Mashiro will all make their Marigold debut during the rumble.
