In an emergency press conference called on the 1st May, Marigold officially announced that Mayu Iwatani will officially join the roster full-time.

As many had predicted, the press conference had been called to both announce Iwatani’s signing after she left Stardom on April 28th, and to confirm that she would indeed be the mystery opponent in Nanae Takahashi’s passion countdown match at Korakuen Hall on May 4th. This in itself is a landmark moment, as it will be the first time since June 10th 2012

Arriving with a birthday cake for the 68-year old Rossy Ogawa, the newly-named “Icon of Joshi Puroresu” confirmed that she will be a full-time touring member of Marigold and that she has a number of goals to achieve in the company. The first is to become a Grand Slam winner – winning all four of the company’s current championships – and the second, and perhaps most exciting, is to once again wrestle alongside IYO SKY!

It was also confirmed during the conference that Mayu will wear the number 219, with her birthday being the 19th February.

The at Korakuen Hall on May 4th will air LIVE with English commentary on WRESTLEUNIVERSE.
