Momo Kohgo recently gave an interview to Japanese publication Number where she discussed everything from her time wrestling in Mexico 2021, her time studying abroad in the United States, her acting roles and her relationship with Peach Rock teammate Mayu Iwatani.

The main focus of the interview however was Momo opening up about her struggles with illness, with her having being diagnosed with both Graves disease and Collagen disease.

Graves’ disease is an autoimmune disease that primarily targets the thyroid, often presenting in severe muscle weakness and sleeping problems, while Collagen disease is a separate disease that causes defects in the collagen in your skin.

During the interview, Momo did outline some of the issues she has to live with as a result of these two conditions, talking about the severe pain she has, how bumping into things like tables can cause excruciating pain and the exhaustion and the muscle weakness that has left her unable to cross a road before. There is good news however, with Momo confirming that the Graves Disease is in remission, and that she hasn’t had to take medication for a number of months. Unfortunately her Collagen disease – which is incurable and can only be prevented from worsening – is still present, with Momo saying that May 2024 was perhaps the worst time for it.
